600 (+10) days
I've reached the 100-day mark on the TW server, and if we combine that with my time on Global, I've now spent over 600 days playing MLQC!

So... 100 days. How's it been?
I guess there are two ways to look at it:
- 100 days since I joined the TW server.
- Or... 100 days since EOS.
To be honest I've been coping pretty well after EOS and being able to continue playing different server definitely made it easier. Of course global's shutdown hurt, but luckily it wasn't final goodbye.
Me vs. Chinese
Of course the major problem is the language barrier. You might think I'd have learned a lot of Chinese by now, but the Chinese character system is just so different from the alphabet, making the learning basically impossible for me. I'm embarrassed to admit that I can't even recognize boys' names in the text. When I unlock new Moments or SMS messages from my daily tasks, I usually have no idea who's texting me until I open my phone. xD
The only character I've actually learned is 天 ("day"), because it appears so often in event announcements and countdowns. However, sometimes I recognize individual words from the voice acting, so apparently my ears are learning faster than my eyes—which is funny, because listening exercises have always been my weakest point.
But yeah, my skill is still basically 0% and I have to rely on translators. Translating everything takes a lot of time, but I've actually come to enjoy the process. Reading each line two or three times helps me understand the story much better, and I feel like I appreciate the writing more after putting so much effort into translating it.
Saving is a long process...
Back on global I'd describe myself as somewhere between an F2P and P2P player. I only made occasional purchases (ahem... let's just pretend that €60 card never happened), but I still relied heavily on saving resources. After changing the server I had to become 100% F2P, which definitely has its downsides. Saving gems and GWC takes for ages - especially when you start from the scratch.
Fortunately TW server offers more ways to collect coupons since we have the dream lake and sign in ect. And I think we have R-events more often than we used to have in global. Luckily there haven't been any new paid card I really need, but I'll probably end up crying for hours when Luci's Kite SP comes from the shop and I can't get it...
Highlights of My First 100 Days
- Pulling Lucien's Mermaid SSR after only 20 days of playing is still my luckiest moment!
- Another memorable moment was when S3 suddenly launched and I fastapped through whole S2 to catch up lol.
- I've also loved Birthday Events and enjoyed the Solo Events, because even if you can't afford a card, the daily mini-dialogues provide entertainment during the week.
- And I'm telling you: Free SSR/SR events have never felt this good, oh I'll gladly take everything free to grow my card collection!
My current card collection
These are currently the strongest cards in my collection. I have 4 Lucien SSR cards (all very forcefully pulled/redeemed of course), and since I'm always a Victor magnet I've pulled couple of his SSRs too. The only SSR cards I have of Gavin and Kiro are the free ones, and poor Shaw doens't even exist.

Looking back, I was worried that starting over on a new server wouldn't feel the same. Instead, it reminded me why I fell in love with this game in the first place. I'm still just as excited about new events, the stories still make me smile, and translating them has become a hobby of its own. In general, MLQC has become a much bigger part of my everyday life outside the game as well. I spend hours translating, editing, and writing posts for this blog—and honestly, I don't mind it at all. So... here's to the next hundred days.
