It's finally time to celebrate Gavin's birthday! Well... I actually missed the party because I didn't get the birthday card, so unfortunately I don't have the craft book section to share this time. The group illustration with Gavin, Eli, and Tang was a really fun idea, but why do NPCs and side characters always have to be drawn without eyes? It looks kind of creepy lol. I skipped Victor's birthday card for the same reason.

I originally wanted to highlight my favorite lines from Gavin's answers like I did with Shaw's Q&A, but that would've meant coloring almost the entire thing because I genuinely loved most of his responses!

He's becoming much better at putting his feelings into words, and we also get to see him thoughtfully reflecting on past events. Several times, Gavin talks about how grateful he is that his and MC's paths crossed, and how much she has changed in his eyes over the years. He also kept trying to sneak a few sweet words out of MC every now and then, haha!

I haven't read many of Gavin's really romantic dates yet, so hearing him say some of these lines still feels a little surprising. At the same time, though, it suits his personality perfectly. Gavin can be very straightforward one moment, then get completely flustered the next, making MC practically drag his feelings out of him.

(...is it just me, or were some of those illustrations shown in rather random contexts? Or maybe I accidentally messed something up. xD)

Since Gavin's STF teammates appear regularly throughout the main story, I think he fits best for this year's birthday theme, where the celebration included friends, colleagues, fans, and other important people in the boys' lives. That said, translating the party scene was still a little chaotic because there were so many faceless NPCs running around. It was nice to see Minor included as well, and despite a few teasing comments here and there, Gavin stayed in a genuinely festive mood instead of threatening to make everyone "run laps."

MC's birthday gift was absolutely amazing! Getting a motorcycle license so she could take Gavin for a ride was such a thoughtful way to show her appreciation for one of his biggest hobbies. I really liked this little role reversal, and Gavin was incredibly supportive, encouraging his girlfriend and praising her all the way yay! Thinking about it further, this also opens up so many possibilities for future motorcycle trips together. I really hope the writers remember this and let us see MC behind the handlebars again someday.

But the most meaningful part of the gift came when MC brought Gavin to a road that had been named after him: Qifu Road. I decided not to translate the name into English because I was afraid it would end up sounding something silly like "Gavin Road" lol. The Qi (起) comes from the second half of Gavin's Chinese name (Bai Qi), while Fu (福) can mean blessing, good fortune, happiness, or prosperity. I chose "blessing" in my translation, but there isn't really a single correct interpretation, so everyone is free to pick the meaning they like best. I also hope we'll see Gavin return to "his" road someday—perhaps during a moment when he feels lost or uncertain and needs a reminder of which direction to take.

All of this year's birthday dates have featured wonderful and meaningful conversations with the boys, but so far, I think Gavin's carried the strongest message. When MC took Gavin onto the Ferris wheel to look out over the city, they talked about how many of his greatest achievements had come at the cost of pain. After that, MC told him that her love wasn't a reward that he had to earn through suffering. That was such a beautiful moment♥
